    What's A Girl To Do?

A few treats I picked up this weekend:

    • One perk of living in urban areas is quality magazines and newspapers with a $0.00 price tag. Some of my favorite reads in Chicago are Vice Magazine and PORK. Don’t get me wrong, they’re total brain sugar, but it’s a much needed break while traveling to and from work.
    • I am so obsessed with David’s Tea! They just opened up a new shop in Wicker Park and I think about their Forever Nuts blend alllll the time. It tastes just like roasted sugar almonds from the carnival! The full ingredient list? Apple, almonds, cinnamon, beetroot, and top secret (natural) flavoring. This means you can add a scoop of loose leaf over ice cream, yogurt or smoothies to switch things up a bit. I bit the bullet and purchased a few sachets for home. Next time I SWARE I’ll try something new.
    • Urban outfitters (…I know…) is having a President’s Day sale through Monday. They lured me in with a street sign advertising $39 BDG jeans. The online store has the same deal in additional to free shipping on orders ofver $50. My roommate got me hooked on the high rise cigarette. FAT JEANS. Seriously, they’re like spanks and jeans wrapped into one shameless package. Sometimes I enjoy not looking like I eat pizza 5+ times a week. They are also super skinny so they look great under boots, too.
    • Say what you will about Crossroads Tading Co. Reguarless, I recently discovered that have a pretty rad selection of jewelry. From what I can tell it’s handmade by some quirky crafter in the area. Long story short it’s unique, inexpensive and I love it.

I could go on and on about Trader Joes. Today I will simply say that their Instant coffee packs are the bomb baby bomb baby! Anything which enables me be a productive human, and lazy, at the same time is good. They have the perfect amount of sugar and cream mixed in, too. This post would have never happened without 'em.

I found a Lisa Frank Sticker Fantasy book at Hobby Lobby a few month back. They also sell it at a few Family Dollar locations for $3. It came in really handy when I was wrapping gifts last month. The book is packed with 100s of stickers including reprints from the 80's and 90's. It has fueled dreams my dreams of skateboarding dogs, seals surfing through space on a firework Popsicles, flamingos building sand castles on the beach, Pizza and French Fries floating in a rainbow galaxy, a bear napping in a bowl covered in blankets made of ice cream, a T-REX chomping on classic cars, Cleocatra, purple huskies dancing under the northern lights…. You get it.

I hope everyone had a fairly painless Valentine’s Day. Something about that holiday makes everyone’s brain start melting. I try to treat it as a day to show everyone close to me that I care about them. Seriously- even a small unexpected will make someone’s day! Make it fun by finding some throwback cards online or in a thrift store. Save yourself a headache and do this way before Valentine’s Day.  Match up each card with something small like these $1.80 nail stickers from Forever 21, your favorite tea bags, a gift card if you really want to suck up, or something a little more personal.

I was in a poor mood before I passed by this installation of cute baby animals.
